DARTS    AUGUST 2008

  PEBSHAM HOLLINGTON OAK FAILED IN THEIR BID TO REACH THE NATIONAL FINALS OF THE BRITISH CHAMPIONS CUP FOR THE SECOND TIME WHEN THEY LOST 3-6 IN THE FINAL TO SURREY’S WALTON MENS W.M.C. AT SLOUGH.

  CURRENTLY TOP OF THE EAST DIVISION IN THE COUNTY SUPER LEAGUE, LAST YEARS SUSSEX CHAMPIONS BEAT BERKSHIRE 5-4 IN THE FIRST ROUND WITH WINS BY ADRIAN GRAY, ADAM BRYANT, STEVE BARRACLOUGH, ANDY NYE AND PHIL WANSTALL. THEY THEN PROGRESSED TO THE FINAL AFTER DEMOLISHING OXFORDSHIRE BY 6-3 WITH WINS FOR MICK EVANS, MARK CARD, ANDY NYE, PHIL WANSTALL, ADAM BRYANT AND ADRIAN GRAY.

 IN THE FINAL THE SURREY SIDE GAINED THEIR REVENGE FOR LAST SEASON’S DEFEAT HERE AND REVERSED THE 2007 RESULT TO QUALIFY FOR THE FINALS AT DAVENTRY. PEBSHAMS WINNERS WERE ADRIAN GRAY, ANDY NYE AND PHIL WANSTALL.

 SUSSEX REPRESENTATIVE’S IN THE LADIES PLAYOFFS ONCE AGAIN WERE THE LITTLEHAMPTON COCONUTS. IN A TIGHT FIRST ROUND MATCH  THE LEAGUE LEADERS FACED THE EPSOM LADIES TEAM FROM SURREY AND LOST 3-4. THE LITTLEHAMPTON WINNERS WERE TRISH KIDD, HAYLEY GATFORD AND DONNA RAINSLEY. THE EVENTUAL WINNERS WERE LAST YEAR’S QUALIFIERS MIDDLESEX.

DATE CHANGE FOR THE BICC

All players are advised of the date change for the last BICC fixture in 2008. Now that the date for the Winmau World Masters has been finalised, the BICC fixtures will be played on 29-30 November.

2008 WINMAU WORLD MASTERS WORLD FINALS

Friday, December 5TH, Saturday, December 6th and Sunday, December 7th

THE BRITISH DARTS ORGANISATION is delighted to announce that the World Finals of the 2008 Winmau World Masters will return to The Spa, Bridlington from Friday December 5th to Sunday, December 7th.

The Stage Finals of the Men’s World Masters will be screened live and exclusively by BBC TV on Saturday, December 6th and Sunday, December 7th.

Following a multi-million pound redevelopment, The Spa is the perfect host venue for the 35th World Masters to celebrate both the 35th Anniversary of the oldest established major tournament in World darts, and the 35th Anniversary of the British Darts Organisation.

More details will be announced later.

Men

Danny King beat Shaun Liptrot {Lanks} 2-0 Sets then lost to Robert Arrowsmith Cheshire 2 sets to 1.

Ken Sowerby had a bye in the first round then lost to Andy Meike Suffolk 2 sets to 1.

Ladies.

Donna Rainsley beat Brenda Dyer IOW 3-1 then lost to Viv Dundon Essex 3-2 in a very tite game.

Well done to you all.

CHAMPIONS CUP

Pebsham Super League team had a good start for the day at Daventry beating  The Jolly Potter from Cheshire 6-3  The lost to an inform Gosport Select from Hampshire 9-0 Hampshire lost in the final to Yorkshire.

 

 

CHAMPIONS CUP

Pebsham Men's Super League Team came away from Epsom British Legion Winners of the Area

Play Off's   They will represent Sussex in the Grand Finals in Daventry Saturday 14th July 2007.
